I am known by many nicknames and titles by my peers. Most notably I have been called David, Ez, Ezra, Ezby, Davy, and many more seemingly goofy names. The Dezigner is a title I had given myself shortly after I adopted the nickname Ezra, as I felt it helped me to stand out from the rest. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and developed a passion for the arts and design at a young age. I spent my youth skating down the shores of Venice Beach or in my local neighborhood. Growing up, I had seen a lot of weird and unusual things that had opened my eyes and broadened my horizons.
Art is everywhere. Art is everything. Everything was designed and created for a sole purpose, whether it be used, consumed, put together, or even just looked at. My favorite type of art is the art of tagging, spray painting murals or just their street name on a wall. Some view it as vandalism, but I see it as a “I was here” message left behind by the person who wrote it. I always try and decipher tags left behind to see what they mean, if anything.
I pursued the arts because my mother was an artist, and she had encouraged me to follow this path. I attended Pasadena City College and transferred to California State University - Los Angeles where I graduated and received a Bachelors of Arts in Graphic Design/Visual Communication.
